The Energy Analytics Manager will support leading edge decision analysis for operating battery and renewable projects in wholesale power markets using our SmartBidder trading platform. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the energy industry, economics, finance or engineering, and exhibits high levels of leadership and professionalism. We are seeking talented individuals with a serious commitment to energy analytics and the evolution of the grid towards greater renewable and storage penetration

Job Responsibilities
Lead the team of analysts to provide quantitative analysis, new client onboarding, and client support to optimize resource bidding in live operations
Provide clients with expertise in the areas of wholesale market participation and risk management
Devise new approaches to represent results that provide support for decision analysis
Assimilate complex information into readily understood reports and presentations
Lead scoping of new features for power market operations
Required Qualifications
2+ years of energy industry experience, including knowledge of deregulated power market operations
Bachelors degree economics, engineering, or energy-relevant disciplines
Demonstrated track record of working with clients and teams
Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and work ethic
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Understanding of energy modeling system and methods
Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and problem-solve with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree; economics, engineering, and energy-relevant disciplines preferable
Demonstrated experience in project and/or people management preferable
Familiarity with DA-RT Trading and/or scheduling for batteries, renewables, or hybrid assets
Compensation: $100,000 - $160,000
Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often pays above industry average.
