Lead Plant Design Engineer

What you will enjoy doing*

You will lead global plant design engineering discipline efforts in the preparation of technical deliverables in collaboration with Linde Engineering team and external parties
Manage civil, structural, and piping design and engineering resources to create procurement, fabrication, construction packages including engineering analysis, calculations, and specifications is part of your role
In addition, you will coordinate with design team to prepare plot plans of new facilities and revamps of existing facilities, further to generate design sketches and estimate quantities of civil, structural, and piping material
You will estimate engineering hours for both internal resources and outsourced engineering, as well to develop engineering design documents based on current codes and standards
Furthermore, you will prepare specifications, prepare calculations, pipe stress analysis, select materials, and coordinate with design team to prepare plant design drawings
Prepare specifications, compile bid packages for the procurement of piping material, insulation, heat trace, and other plant design components
Facilitate 30%, 60%, 90%, and constructability design reviews
You will need to participate in P&ID, HAZOP, HAZID meetings as required to achieve optimal plant design
Reviewing vendor drawings is part of your role
Also, you will support reliability and mechanical integrity engineering analysis of plant design components

What makes you great

You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and breadth and depth knowledge in Plant Design Engineering and working knowledge of other fields
Further, you have more than eight years experience in LNG, Natural Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, or Industrial Gas Industry as well as an understanding of codes and regulations pertaining to facility design and engineering
In addition, you have more than 5 years in an engineering discipline lead or project engineering role and an education as a professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) with progress towards PE License
Positive attitude with ability to adapt work schedule to accommodate project specific needs
Also, you possess advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc), Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and knowledge plant design software (SmartPlant Review, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Microstation, and preferably Caesar II or Staad Pro)
Detailed understanding of Plant Design Engineering disciplines (Civil, Structural, Piping Material, Pipe Stress Analysis, Piping Design, and 3D CAD Applications)
Detail oriented self-starter with ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams in a diverse Global Workshare environment
You have effective analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company including working with Virtual Teams
Track record in the management of plant design engineering activities of modularized process plants
Both domestic and international travel to facilities and offices expected up to 25% with potential travel to global project sites for an extended period (1-3 months) or expatriate assignment
