Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Contract Administration Manager to join our growing Energy Business Line supporting large multi-year projects as part of the program and construction management team.
AECOM is pursuing projects in the industrial, municipal, defense, and commercial market segments. The projects include grid modernization, transportation electrification, renewable fuels, emerging markets in hydrogen and carbon capture, microgrids, solar and battery storage, and other energy projects.
AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients.
The job responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Oversees the administration and communication of all elements of contractual terms and conditions from proposal stage through contract close-out and audit. Directly and through subordinates, assists all departments in developing contracts within company policies.
Works with the Company purchasing systems and processes. Understands purchasing terminology, measures, concepts and principles for compiling bid proposals. Recognizes purchasing processes/project actions that may impact the project. Utilizes schedules in establishing and meeting procurement and materials management milestones.
Possesses the skills for analyzing bids to determine potential for cost savings. Prepares evaluation of suppliers’ capabilities and Requests for Quotations for non-complex, engineered equipment. Contacts suppliers for timely submittal of bids. Tabulates bids and assists in performing bid analysis, and establishing cost reasonableness. Contacts bidders for clarifications.
Works with the Company purchasing systems and processes. Understands purchasing terminology, measures, concepts and principles for compiling bid proposals. Examines estimates and delivery schedules.
Prepares bids, process specifications, test and progress reports and other exhibits that may be required. Manages a team of contract administrators. Leads the negotiation strategy and leads negotiation meetings with suppliers.
Leads preparation of client approval packages prior to award. Leads the preparation of procurement and materials management reports. Leads the evaluation of disputes with vendors. Develop a team to resolve invoices and resolution of discrepancies Reports to the program director
This role will require the person to interface with the client to further governance guidelines for contracting with suppliers (consulting and materials) Establishes the contract vehicles required (while coordinating with AECOM legal, the program director and the governance committee)
Negotiate the contracts for all preconstruction suppliers (in coordination with the program director, and functional leaders). The steady state condition will require contract maintenance, developing and administrating the risk and reward aspects (again in collaboration of the Program Leadership), and ensuring the contract management structure is remaining appropriate for the maturity of the program.
The full description of the work flow will come from the Contract Novation plan, the Construction contracting Framework Plan and a few other areas of the Program Execution Plan (PEP).


BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid US Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.


Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction from ABET accredited college or university
9+ years of relevant experience in contract management in the engineering or construction industry.
Understanding of Administration of Contract within the Energy Field
Success in working with remote teams

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $120,000– $160,000 annually exempt.
