What you will enjoy doing*
You will be in charge for the proposal management for future sale-of-gas and sale-of-plant opportunities and the management of plant design deliverables for Proposal preparation, Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction phases of assigned projects
Execution of operations capital (revamp and TAR) projects is part of your role, as well support internal standard or product line development activities
You will lead development of technical proposal deliverables such as plot plans, concepts, and tie-in/battery limit lists in collaboration with Linde Engineering team and external parties
In this role you will collaborate with civil, structural, and piping engineering resources in the preparation of procurement, fabrication, construction packages including 3D models, 2D drawings, and reports
Additionally you will generate design sketches to allow for estimation of quantities of civil, structural, and piping material
Facilitate 30%, 60%, 90% design reviews and constructability design reviews
Further you will review vendor drawings as relating to 2D and 3D designs
You will prepare reports such as line lists, valve schedules, and other extracts from 3D modeling software
Interpret Engineering deliverables such as mechanical equipment drawings, pipe specifications, instrument datasheets, and pipe stress analysis reports in the preparation of design deliverables
Also, you will interface directly with internal and external customers and suppliers as required
Additionally, you will ensure design packages follow Linde standards as well as country-specific regulations (spacing criteria, OSHA, and other engineering codes in consultation with engineers)
You will make design decisions based on full awareness of viability, cost, and other benefits identifying opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvements
What makes you great
You have an Associates Degree or Technical Design Drafting Education from accredited college or university, equivalent work experience may be considered
Breadth and depth knowledge in Plant Design and working knowledge of other fields are required for this role, as well as more than 10 years’ experience in LNG, Natural Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, or Industrial Gas Industry understanding of codes, standards and regulations pertaining to facility design
You have already worked more than 5 years in a lead Plant Designer role
Proficiency in 2D / 3D Plant design software (SmartPlant 3D, SmartPlant Review, Navisworks, AutoCAD and / or MicroStation) is required
Furthermore you have an understanding and application of deliverables prepared by engineering disciplines (Process, Civil, Structural, Piping Material, Pipe Stress Analysis, Mechanical Equipment, Electrical, and Instrumentation
You are a detail oriented self-starter with ability to work independently with cross-functional teams in a diverse Global Workshare environment
In addition you have demonstrated ability to achieve goals across all project phases (proposal, engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction)
Coach, Mentor, and lead junior designers on large or complex projects as assigned
You have the ability to work within the office, supplier shops, construction, and operating plant environments
