WHAT WE DO:

The Foreman provides leadership and technical expertise for solar installations. The Foreman is responsible for providing oversight for one or more solar installation crews. The Foreman will also serve as a subject matter expert on solar installations and coordinate cross-functionally and with AHJ inspectors to help solve issues impacting solar inspections. The Foreman is required to possess and maintain a valid Journeyman License/Electrician Certification or equivalent per local and state requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Responsible for the successful installation of residential solar projects including the installation of electrical systems that interconnect our solar array to the grid power of our customer’s residential property
Ensure work performed is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes
Organize and lead one or more crews to complete projects within established guidelines, timeframes and with an emphasis on safety, quality, customer service and productivity
Effectively manage all aspects of the construction workflow of the project to drive productivity
Ensure that there are adequate materials and equipment to safely and efficiently complete projects
Train and develop field employees on established best practices to drive efficiency and quality as well as preparing crew members for future positions
Work cross-functionally with license holders, AHJ inspectors, and crew members to serve as a subject matter expert on solar installations. Solve for recurring quality issues and failed inspections to increase the solar installation pass rate
Assist the crew on the roof as needed to ensure an efficient and high quality installation
Additional duties assigned as needed
5% travel required

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Must possess and maintain a valid Journeyman License/Electrician Certification or equivalent per local and state requirements, e.g. wireman license
Prior experience leading teams of 3-6 required
Experience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC
Ability to perform all installation duties of the Installer, Lead Installer and Electrical Foreman
Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check. Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
Have CPR and First Aid Certifications up to date and keep maintained for purposes of continued employment (class costs are reimbursable by the company)
Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)
Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance
Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces which requires kneeling and crouching
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity
Ability to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills including but not limited to: fine manipulation, grasping, and pinching
Ability to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses and other personal protective equipment
Ability to work while wearing heavy protective equipment such as arc flash suits, gloves, and face shields
Ability to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of height
Ability to work in the sun and possibly low light conditions
Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damage
Ability to distinguish colors such as red, black, yellow, white, green
Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate protection

COMPENSATION
The anticipated base salary for this position is $28 - 30/hr. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If your compensation expectations fall outside of this range, it may still be worth having a conversation.
