What you will enjoy doing*
You will be responsible for leading the specification and design of analytical systems on ASU and CO2 projects. The analytical systems include but not limited to the gas analyzers, process analyzers, moisture, impurity analyzers, mass spectrometers, gas chromatographs, sampling / calibration systems, enclosure buildings, atmospheric monitoring, and sample conditioning systems
Further, you will develop and maintain the LEA standards for analytical systems, enclosure buildings, and sampling systems
Scope analytical system requirements for project estimate and proposal preparation will be part of your role, as well as attend acceptance tests of systems
You will also support on-site checkout, commissioning, and plant startup activities for analytical systems
In addition, you will provide oversight to analytical system equipment suppliers, fabricators, and field installation contractors
You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, technical quality, completeness, and reliability of analytical system designs as well as systems procured from external sources
You will champion new ideas and get involved in the community of practice for analytical systems and instrumentation
Also, you will be recognized as an expert in core skill of analytical systems and instrumentation while maintaining a thorough knowledge of new technologies
What makes you great
You have a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
You have at least 6 to 8 years of experience in the field of refining/petrochemical/air separation analytical design and application
In this role you require working knowledge of industrial codes, standards, and practices (NEC, NFPA, ISA, IEC, API, ASTM)
Hands-on experience and thorough technical knowledge in design and specification of overall plant analytical system design including different sampling systems, installation, commissioning, startup, and operations support
Familiarity with database software i.e., Smart plant Instrumentation (SPI) and Siemens COMOS
You have hands-on experience with MS office, Visio, AutoCAD, and the ability to effectively work within an office, construction, and operating plant environments
Must be proficient in verbal and written communication while participating in a project team environment
Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time to support project tasks, supplier visits, commissioning, and construction
Moreover, you have working knowledge of hazardous area classifications and standards, experience in P&ID markups for analytical scope as well as experience/familiarity in interfacing analyzer systems to DCS/ PLC
In addition, you own experience with dealing and managing work with EPC contractors / workshare with other entities
Experience in air separation plants is preferred
PE certification is preferred
