Description
Description:
The Service Technician will provide technical services and customer support during commissioning and after sales for the company’s products (solar & storage inverters stations). Support will be provided over the phone or at the customer’s site. Positively interacts with customers to drive satisfaction by solving technical problems. Acts as primary contact for technical questions and is the trusted company representative to solve and resolve technical service questions.
This position requires travel.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Troubleshoot a variety of solar and battery systems including, but not limited to SolarEdge, Tesla, Enphase.
Troubleshoot PV system performance, locate and isolate ground faults, and replace inverters & optimizers if necessary.
Remove and reinstall existing PV systems in their entirety (panels, inverters, racking, and roof attachments.
Review site manuals and drawings to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
Review bill of material and load all necessary equipment for each project.
Report technical issues to the Branch Manager.
Communicate with manufacturers for technical and RMA support Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks.
Communicate with internal and external customers as required.
Work closely with the scheduler to ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to and work orders are completed accurately and on time.
Perform QA analysis on existing solar systems (understand code requirement changes over time).
Act as a subject matter expert for customers.
Manage the comprehensive customer experience.
Perform site surveys for new solar and energy storage projects.
Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.

Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:
General understanding of solar building materials, tools, and techniques.
Read plan sets and/or technical diagrams.
General understanding of NEC requirements.
Ability to problem solve independently.
Ability to adhere to safety requirements and guidelines.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 2+ years of electrical experience strongly preferred.
Minimum 2+ years of experience with solar strongly required.
Must have a valid state driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work at great heights.
Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders.
Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, etc).
